What makes you think it will give the Wii U a significant boost? Despite there being almost no games for xbox and ps4 during the summer (also known as the summer drought) it couldn't beat ps4 and it did slightly better than xbox one. I don't understand why some people are thinking it help Wii U out sell Xbox One during the holidays when Xbox One and PS4 releases are Fifa, Destiny,COD, MCC, Forza, Sunset Overdrive, Unity, Far Cry 4,Drive Club ,little big planet and more. Not only this, but North America Favors Xbox and Playstation and North America buys the most products during the holidays. Maybe I am missing something. |
I think you're failing to realize that MK8 isn't done selling. Nitendo games in general tend to have longer "legs" than most other games, and MK is no exception. Do not be suprised at all if it has already reached 3 million by the time Black Friday rolls around, and even 4 million by the end of the year. Depending on how things go, it may even sell more than that, you never know. It, and the Wii U, absolutely will get a major holiday sales boost, regardless.
And Smash Bros. is going to sell very well on Wii U, regardless. I think it will help Wii U's sales, it and MK8 make a nice one-two punch. And quite frankly, IF this new Zelda lives up to the potential it has, along with big releases like Devil's Third, Xenoblade Chronicles X, SMT x FE, Splatoon, etc. coming next year, I think the momentum can absolutely be maintained for the next couple years, IF Nintendo advertises way better, and IF they play their cards right.
