Hmmm..... I don't think Gears has the pull it once did, and I find more third person shooters, of late, following closer to Uncharted's more versatile gameplay and, of course, cinematic style. I just don't hear much about Gears anymore (and this is coming from someone who's favorite third person shooter is the original Gears).

Gears certainly paved the way, while I feel like Uncharted brought something else to it.

And what are these games?  Uncharted and Tomb Raider?  Being a cinematic game has nothing to do with the genre so dont bring up games unless it uses the same gameplay mechanics as uncharted's shooting mechanics.

Gears, Mass Effect, Deadspace, Army of 2, Vanquish, Quantum Theory, and the list goes on and on including The Order 1886.  Again, Uncharted isnt known for its shooting mechanics. So ill put it this way, The Order 1886 does not play like Uncharted, it plays like Gears.  And if you have played both Gears and Uncharted you know exactly what im talking about.  Theyre in the same genre yet play nothing alike.  One is an over the shoulder TPS based off of cover and Uncharted isnt even in the overshoulder view. Gears all about how well the shooting mechanics work.  Uncharted is more of an Action/Adventure game that is a TPS where as gears is all about shooting and movement.
