As for FFXII, I don't think it's a bad game, it did a lot of things right, but it also did a lot of things wrong (mainly the beginning and the damn license system). To date, FFXII does have the best combat system (VIII's was interesting, but drawing was annoying and just wasn't fun after a while) and so far does look the best. I absolutely loved the fact that I actually felt like I was playing an MMO while walking through the towns. Despite all that, I just didn't like FFXII because FF games should be about the story and characters first and XII just didn't do a great job on that. The beginning of the game did a bad job of drawing the player in. Even VIII did a great job at drawing players in with their wonderful cut scenes and immediatly showing you the good guyy, the bad guy, and who they're fighting over (my skipping VIII earlier was just poking fun at it because it is my personal least favorite of the main series). |
