In what situation would the gaming industry be now if the deal between sony and nintendo had worked out?

I think Sega would of always died. They sabotaged their consoles so many times with consumers. Releasing addon crap after addon. And the Sega Saturn release out of nowhere. They were doing too much with stuff. And never giving it a chance to improve and drop cost.
