I think you'll the difficulty depends on how much you grind in Disgaea.

Or how many people you use in your party... assuming 3 isn't different.

In disgaea the level systems are like the oldschool Nintendo RPGs. One or Two levels makes a HUGE difference... like dragonball Z or something, and the system is set up to promote grinding.

So if you take a party of say.... 4-5 characters instead of 10 they're going to level a lot faster and you'll be able to beat the game fairly eaisly without even grinding.

Or at least that was true of 1 and 2.

That's why most SRPGs who allow level grinding also raise the levels of your enemy with it... well to a cap anyway.  Eventually they figure if your level 20 on the 6th stage they should just let you have your dominance.
