wow you're really grasping at straws here. dynasty warriors sold better in japan because the 360 doesn't sell in japan. cod4 sold better because it has more than 2x the install base of the PS3 in America and the 360 is largely regarded as an FPS console.

and gta-friendly games? what the hell does that even mean? you honestly sound like a PR rep.

I wasn't just talking about mere sales, but the trends of sales: Not only did the PS3 version of Dynasty Warriors 5 sell better, the PS3 saw MUCH larger increases in hardware sales than the 360 did. Most PS3/X360 multiplatform games in Japan have, even uptill now, sold at a 4:1 ratio of PS3/X360 sales, and a similar % increase of relevant Console sales the week of launch. Dynasty Warriors was the PS3's biggest game of 2007, and guess what? It sold at a 7:1 ratio, and the 360 had NO benefit in sales, whereas the PS3 sold very, very, very well. Go look even at DMC4 in Japan: The 360 version sold about at a 4.5:1 ratio, and Hardware sales for the week were:

Hardware:

Console Week Weekly Total
62 97,723 (+27%) 5,204,690
165 69,655 (-2%) 8,236,849
166 69,511 (-13%) 22,007,661
65 39,676 (+23%) 1,904,584
414 12,299 (+8%) 22,383,647
113 6,108 (+40%) 575,302

So the 360 there had a bigger % increase over the PS3 in the week that DMC4 released. Why? There wasn't as much emphasis, on either side, and the 360 maintained the typical 4:1 ratio that we've seen it have vs. the PS3 since the PS3 launched in Japan. GTAIV is to the US as Dynasty Warriors 5 is in Japan: It's a huge, massive game, and it's going to swing to the most attractive gaming console. I feel that the 360 has trended to be the lead console in the US versus the PS3, and therefore, will see the larger sales increases.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
