I also want to remind you it is not just the new phones/tablets that it works on, it even works on the Iphone 5 and that thing is around 2 years old.. Iphone 6 probably will get announced in less than two weeks and it could potentially play last gen games quality wise... |
I suggest u dont look at it like this! when iphone came to be in 2007 it could run games that looked as good as PS2 games, now after 7 years and on iphone 6 we may see games that look like some of last gen games, theorical performance of the PS2 was 6GFLOPS and PS3 was around 400GFLOPS, that's just 394GFLOPS gain in 7 years if we compare this to iphones!
So lets say in 7 years iphone 12! will have a theorical performance of not even 800GFLOPS but 1TERAFLOPS! (200 extra here cause of advancments in tech!) its still behind the PS4 by 1 freakin TF(CPU+GPU) and until then if Sony make another console we gonna see PS5 with at least triple the PS4's power.

The other thing to remember is that Flops aren't everything. As chip architectures improve, devs will be able to use more advanced techniques whilst using significantly less power.

THANK YOU!!! FLOPS are FAR from everything. Nvidia GPU's are notoriously weaker in the computational department compared to their AMD counterparts, and yet they are not half as strong like the numbers would suggest. They are simply built to game.
