No i'm not, you are the one who is confused. A gimmick is a trick; a fad is an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's qualities. If all you have is a one line response to me then I see no point in continuing this conversation.

I re-edited my post to clarify. Popularity doesn't = Gimmicks.
Such as Zombies in The Last of Us.
Length of posts doesn't matter, quality > quantity.
