Vita is most likely profitable currently, but will only be profitable if Sony doesn't do anything for it. This is why we're seeing a bunch of small indie and 3rd party games on the Vita. At this point, Sony just wants to squeeze whatever amount of money they can out of the Vita with the least amount of effort. The PS (Vita) TV could help mitigate the Vita's misfortunes with its $99 pricepoint, but it remains to be seen.
OT: Kaz is doing an alright job. I just wish that he's quicker on his actions. At the beginning, especially, he was slow to react to many of Sony's problems. Now, he has definitely improved. He still has a long road ahead of him, but I believe he can keep Sony in the black. I hope Sony makes profits in their next two quarters. (The quarter after will post a loss because of writeoffs from selling the PC business and spinning off the TV division).
