Definitely agree on that. But there's quite a few companies I can think of off the top of my head that put up a pretty weak fight when they were in tough financial situations so I can't blame them. Blackberry, the phone company comes to mind - After years of decreasing sales and only major relevancy in the business world, they ended up selling to some Chinese firm I belieive.
To be honest glancing over Nintendos recent history, I'd make the assumption that they were on their death bed but quite the opposite is true evidently. They excel at maximizing profit
