I'm the kind of person that'll put multiplayer experiences before single player experiences. I like to do things with other people really and gaming is one of those things. Playing a game solo is fun too, but to me it's all about how much you pay. What I don't like about single players these days is that they care mostly about better graphics and lack content but will still sell you the game 60$ when you can beat it in a rent. Multiplayer adds a lot of surprises and unexpected behavior from other players that can't be matched from single players. One person talked about AI and I totaly agree with him. Once you beat most single player games you can always expect the same again and again... it's like expecting to be surprised after you've watched the same movie again and again... I just can't.

To each his own though. Some of my best games ever are single player games. Shining Force series, FF Tactics. Kotor, ME, Star Ocean 2, FFIV-VI, Ninja Gaiden Black, Panzer Dragoon Zwei etc are all single player only and great games.
