If you already have a PS3 there are only three reasons to buy a 360 (Halo3, MassEffects, Bioshock)
(To be fair, if you already have a 360 there are only a couple of reasons to buy a PS3: When your 360 crapped out, BluRay and (Uncharted, MGS4, GT ...)
For gaming both systems are too similar and most great games are multiplatform. So one is enough.
IF you have a Wii the situation may be different. If you do not need BluRay and want to play Halo buy a 360, if you have a HD TV and want GT or MGS4 buy a PS3.
