I totally agree from an end user perspective: if you already have a Wii/360/PS3, it doesn't matter if a game is exclusive if you get to play it anyway. This is one of the main reasons why I think PS3 fans shoudl still be very happy with their console: it may not be accruing exclusive titles as fast as the 360/Wii, but as long as it's getting most of the big games (such as Madden and GTA) that are cross platform, there is nothing to worry about. I personally believe that, after FF XIII has come, there will be next to zero major 3rd party titles that will be exclusive to either platform. 360 will have Microsoft games, Sony will have Sony games, and that's about it.
But from a sales perspective, it's totally different. The 360 jumps over the Wii and PS3 here, for different reasons: the Wii is significantly graphically inferior and the controls are different enough that straight ports aren't really possible -- most "multi platform" games will in fact be on the 360 and the PS3. That's bad for the Wii. For the PS3, every single "multi platform" game can be played on the 360 for 200 dollars cheaper. The first real test of this will be GTA IV, and I expect the 360 version (and sales of the 360 system) to be significantly higher (and recieve a significantly larger boost) than the PS3.
Because of the large price difference between system -- and because the 360 already has a larger user base -- every time a game is released on the PS3 and the 360 with the same graphics and gameplay, the 360 wins.
