Not being the first to experience it. And often times, features being cut to make it cheaper.

Well, I for one don't care if I'm the first to experience it. There are advantages and disadvantages of that (Red Ring Of Death, innitial PS4 failures, ect). Cutting out features? Not that I don't doubt they'd do it, but can you name an example of a feature that had been taken out that would be worth the extra money and failure risk of getting something new vs later. Missing features would be the only thing that I would personally feel left out on.
