I had the pleasure to try the Development Kit 2 from Oculus. And its absolutely mind blowing. Even for me and I knew the DK1. Everybody who hasnt tried it yet should atleast wait for a Consumer Device and try it when a friend has it and THEN form an opinion. It might be not for everybody but without trying it its hard to explain the gigantic difference it makes to use a proper setup VR Headset. And it doesnt matter if its first or third person. Third Person feels like hovering 2-3 meters above the ground and mindcontrolling someone on the ground.
I am not saying it will replace the normal way of gaming but it will add a whole new dimension nobody knew before and create a new way for people to spend their freetime. Playing Half Life 2 with the DK2 is an experience that is like taking a trip to an alternate dimension.. And the DK2 is still far away from what the Consumer Version will offer. And its already amazing.
