The beta was a lot of fun for me. The map was in no way limited and had some surprises so currently I am not scared of too less content. But overall it plays a lot like Halo and I think it's a good opportunity for Halo downplayers to feel why Halo is such a big game for Xbox.

It doesn't play like halo tho it plays much better than Halo . It's definitely a spiritual successor and playing it then playing halo 4 shows just how lacking Halo has become. Bungie has learned from their past games and refined everything. Its like drinking a coke in a chilled bottle compared to drinking a syrupy fountain version from a restaurant with too much melted ice.

As a long time Halo player I have to disagree, the game felt really similar to Halo (not exactly the same, but similar) and if you played Halo you would say the same thing.

I've played all the halo's and its really not the same. The only thing it has in common with it is jumping from UT and recharging shields from literally dozens of other games prior to it. It's fair to say Halo has more in common with UT than with Destiny. Even after they added a leveling system it was still very much a digital dodge ball like battle arena. Actually like UT its quite fair to say Halo is a FPSMOBA(Multiple online battle arena). While destiny is FPSMMO with additional pvp game modes that are more like CS or CoD. There are no MOBA elements. Yes they borrowed much of the art style but that style is not Halo's style it is Bungies style that is the distinction. other than jumping and shields none of the mechanics are the same. It may have been visually similar in some aspects but the gameplay is not nearly the same.
