Obviosuly reported you for the insult but yes, I know what is a DDOS attack and I know that you can protect about it.
You seem to have a lot of faith in Google, please just use it and search for DDOS attack protection. There are many way (require some work and a good infratructure) to mitigate it big time.

And if you really know what a DDOS attack is, then you should also know that Google (who does not have the most servers out there as you said) (Amazon, Azure and a lot of others says "hi") is not immune in anyway, they just have the proper infrastructure to handle it.

I said "someone like" not just Google, and yes immune was not the right word I used.

And just to be clear, I do not say it is easy to mitigate the DDOS attack but it is doable (and cost some money as you need to be able to handle the load at first before to mitigate it). I can post a lot of whitepaper link explaining how to do so.

For the record, I dislike very much those "hackers" and I hope Sony will fix this soon (and it sucks for the Playstation gamers).
But the reality is that with a paying service Sony should be able to build a good infrastructure to prevent that 6+ down hours...
