I have had 2 retron 3s. The one worked for 2 years before the SNES section went bad. I just got my second a few months ago and it works fine except the power button is a lil sticky. (Not terrible for $60)

The only issue i've had with the 3s (This has been solved with the 5s because the 5 uses a HDMI output) is resolution mismatches on LCD TVs. The 3 outputs the native resolutions of the older systems (Sub 480i) while the 5 has a hardware upscaler. I got around the issue by using an RF modulator box and transformed the raw RCA Video into Analog NTSC RF.

The only games you may have issue with are SNES and Genesis games that use things like the Super FX chip. Everything else runs fine on my 3 with original controllers.
