Pretty much this.  Anytime you have some free time just do some quests + surveys.

they have made them even easier now, they used to list the directions for you to follow and now they send you where you need to be and snap the directions to the right, it's pretty slick.  I've done quite a few of them.  I do have a problem at the moment, I assume it will only be a temporary one.  MS sent me a new X1 yesterday and it was really easy to get the new one setup, but I think I'm two OS updates behind on the preview.  Maybe it just needs an extra day or two to catch up.
