Are you not capable of touching other buttons on the controller while simultaneously using both sticks? and my hands are of decent size, and i never have an issue, and non of my friends have ever complained about it. you seem to be one of the few who does, and it makes such a big deal to you, you make a thread before you even own the console. if you have problems hitting one or the other, maybe you should go buy something to help with your manual dexterity. there is more then enough room for both. and to say they compete against each other is one of the most insane things i have ever heard. in a game like killzone your going to need the pause button more then the 4 tools it lets you use? or in tlou your going to pause the game more then you are going to look at supplies and put stuff together, or increase skills. i think bf4 is the only game i own where the options button is used more, and thats because BF4 does a shit terrible job at using it. Other games though have been very good at it. yes warthunder and ff14 give you the option, but what it you dont have an extra mouse and keyboard, or a set up that would let you use them well with your tv? PLUS thats not even the point at hand because you can use those. as an extra option. you want to use your 360 controller. that doesnt have as many inputs as a M&KB. they let you use a M&KB because it has enough available extra input options that you wont be left with any not used. if you use your 360 controller, you are short those inputs. or wait, this thread isnt about you wanting to use a 360 controller, its so you have a place to try and bash the ds4 and your failing misreably |
When you say fingers I'm assuming your excluding your thumbs and index fingers? So you would actually use your other digits while maintaining your thumbs in the normal position? I'd love to see that, that couldn't possibly look comfortable. Your friends don't complain about it, but my friend who I borrowed the ps4 from has already told me he misses the xbox controller.
Yes, I do use the options button more. Outside of the first party titles, none of the games I have played have required me to use the touchpad. And as I mentioned, it is used for pausing games and other media. Part of my issue with its position is muscle memory. Start buttons have almost always been in the same general area since the NES days. I can get used to change but only when that change is in service of something worthwhile. The touchpad has not proven its worth and unlike sixaxis it is also permanently hindering the design of the controller.
But if people don't have a keyboard and mouse then how they are still playing a gimped version. You could take away the touchpad inputs and use only a regular controller and it would still be gimped. Are you arguing levels of gimped? And no I don't care that I'm losing inputs with the 360 controller because those inputs have not been used in a compelling way and any adapter will have ways to map that functionality in some other way. Most games aren't going to use it extensively so its not a big deal.
If you love your ds4 controller that is fine, but your dead wrong if you think that I'm not dead serious about wanting to use an xbox controller on the ps4. I paid a mint for the privelege on ps3 and I'd be willing to do the same for ps4. The fact that it is not an option is literally the only reason I haven't bought the console yet. I don't care about bashing the ds4, some of you have a serious persecution complex.
