Well, if you see, everytime someone ask nintendo about the 3rd party issue, they say:"well, they need install base, and to install base grow, we need great games, the games we are making". You can look up, they always give a answer like that. They enver talk about promotion with them, or bring exclusive feutares.

Remenber the Wiiu ads and the 3DS ones. How many of them featured a 3rd party game? How many of the sony and microsft ones featured 3rd parties? You can actually remenber one from Sony os MS that don't have a 3rd party game featured on it?

In this e3, fossil figthers and Fantasy life were announced for 3DS in americas, but they were totally missing from the digital event, rigth?

The answer is pretty simple for nintendo: they need to colaborate on promoting them, just that.

Will work? Well, there is actually one point were its is working: indies. Almost every kickstarter have a wiiu goal. Everyday we got announcment of indie port for wiiu, and a lot of them declared: nintendo came to us.

And the problem is, nitnendo never really colaborate with 3rd party. Look up for two articles : http://www.infendo.com/nintendo-and-ea-a-lovehate-history/

Another one of them gave us this:
"

At the time, Nintendo believed “Geist” — a first person shooter published by Nintendo — would be GameCube’s “Halo Killer”. And everyone inside the meeting reassured Reggie that “Geist” would become a huge hit with the older hardcore gamers who loved “Halo”.

“And then at the end [of the presentation], Reggie looked around the table and basically said “Look, don’t bullshit me. How do you guys really think this thing is going to hold up?” No one said a word for a minute

Mercury then made another recommendation to Fils-Aime: “The other game we should really be focusing on is Resident Evil 4. This game is going to sell consoles. Period.”

Reggie was surprised at the idea of giving a bigger push to a third party title.

Even recently we discovered that while the development of need for speed was going, some developer tried to get a demo out to convince people to buy the game, but neither nintendo or EA cared enough to do something.

What nintendo need to do is put some level of priority on the publishers needs. They need to call their partner now and ask: hey, lego batman 3 beyond gotham is coming, but we want to make sure that is sells well on ours plattaforms. Maybe we could bring some demos to the conventions we are attending? Work on some exclusive content? Put a nintendo direct only for this game? Fans really like the first lego undecover, what will take to make another one? Maybe we could publish it in some part of the world, to be cheaper for you guys?

They need more that. They do some of that with tecmo, capcom and sega, but now they need to do it with western publisher too.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
