Why do some companies not reveal which platforms a game is being made for.

Isn't it obvious? Its to build up hype. If they say its for one of the consoles, they'll get fanboy support from that console and get panned by the other two. Same if its only for 2 consoles. If its for all 3 then nobody is interested because there's nothing to argue/speculate.
