Right, but No Man's Sky is entirely procedurally generated. If you ask me, that doesn't lead to as good a result. Well when your game is more than a year away, it might not be fun, but if you've got the right direction and the right leaders, then it should all come together But the only bit I've played has been fun, so that's all I can really judge it on You can't say there is no style at all, of course there's a style, it's just a massively variable style depending on the in game manufacturer of the ship. This is probably the most out there kind of ship http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/Khartu But I honestly can't understand how you think there's no art style |
I'm not talking about ship design as an isolated thing, but general impact of what's on screen. Shapes, colors, texture detail levels, effects, interface. Some of the ships have some impressive futuristic industrial design going on, but that's a minor element of the whole game's visual expression. I can't seem to spot any coherent choice in the stylization of things. What's left out and what isn't seems a little arbitrary to me.
