Yep, I read about this too and it quite surprised me. Although I'm definitely not a MS fanboy, I thought that switching to the new smaller and less power hungry process for the chips, modifying the mobo to avoid excessive deformation in the zone of BGAs' solderings and upgrading the cooling system should have solved the thing.
