It seems a bit anti-consumer to me to let people run out and get TLOU on PS3 and not tell them it's coming to PS4 a year later. That's tricking people into double dipping to get more cash out of them.

Well, you're entitled to your own opinion of course, but I couldn't disagree more. I think calling that of all things an anti-consumer practise is a massive exaggeration. No one HAS to double dip. Now if they were to release exclusive story dlc on ps4 and force people to buy the ps4 version just to play a part of the story, then sure, that'd be anti-consumer.

I find what happened with the LOTR bluray edition anti-consumer. They released a blu-ray version and waited a year or something to release another version with deleted scenes. So they withheld content to increase profits.

My issue is just that I think they should have let us know it'd be coming to PS4 before releasing the PS3 version, so those who wanted to wait and pick up the enhanced version could do so.

Are there any examples of a company that has actually that? As in say "here, you can buy this or wait for the better version coming on the x of x". It makes zero sense from a business point of view.
