If this actually happened, it is a stupid rule and an unjust punishment, but the first amendment only prevents you from unlawful persecution by the government. Freedom of speech has nothing to do with institutions, businesses, or individuals. A lot of people think they can say anything they want anywhere, which is totally not true.
