ioi has already released a statement that VG's figures are pretty accurate with confirmed numbers in major countries in Europe.
If it's under-tracked there, it won't be by much. So likely US and Europe are a near tie or perhaps US on top by a narrow margin.
These missing sales are coming from "Others" which is Asia, Middle East, and Africa.

Edit: As of Sony's announcement Europe is likely 3.8m with Americas in the 3.9m range.

VGChartz is undertracking PS4 by 50k+ in Germany alone. A tier one country....

VG has PS4 numbers at 3.45m as of Aug 2. I generously put it as 3.8m for the following week+ . My numbers serve as a response to OP who is extrapolating a question of both VG and NPD+Other numbers. If my numbers don't satisfy then go ahead and extend one regions inaccuracy to make things none the better and to be in favor.

Not sure if serious. Your comment was on me saying numbers weren't much undertracked for Europe even though I offered a likely figure.

VG is currently off by less than 8% assuming the 3.8m figure is correct, and seems to be in the ball park. Interesting that you make this fuss due to one country being under tracked but fail to mention that the PS4 is currently overtracked in the U.S. by 50k. Point of the matter is no need to shit on the numbers provided by this site for now as we all know they will work on appropriate adjustments for all regions necessary that are yet to be clear. I hope you can see that it is silly to acknowledge it's undertracked in one country and therefore assume in all other major territories in addition to ignoring where it's currently overtracked.

Don't worry numbers will be sorted out and it will say >10m in the front page in the end.

Anyway, I still strongly believe the PS4 is untracked in Europe severely. Since there isnt any tracker like NPD to keep VGChartzs in check in Europe. IT is very fair to assume their numbers are very wrong there as well. 

I apologize for the confusion. If you look at Troll Whisperer's post above, he draws the same conjecture for Europe, which again gives a 3.8m range figure. The problem is that it's only approximately half of the missing sales, with some 300k-400k still missing. Which is what I was getting at. Again apologies for the confusion.
