Totally and completely depends on the situation.  They aren't out there to die.  If some is coming at them and doesn't stop, I think it's safe to assume that the officer's life is in danger and they have every right, as much as you or I, to defend themselves.  The responsibility for that goes on the head of the person who is attacking them.  I mean, it's that simple, don't attack a police officer.  In fact, don't attack anyone, or you're taking your life into your own hands.

I don't condone what Brown did, I would have never approached the officer that way. But even if he put his hands on that officer he did not deserve to die. The officer absolutely could have injured him with a few shots. He shot him in the forehead, and that was the last bullet he shot. Why is he aiming for his head? If the officer was a good shot like that he could have easily shot his legs and torso.

The officer is just as much a criminal as Brown IMO. Let's not forget that Brown was unarmed, and supposedly had his hands in the air. By other officer's account Brown bumrushed the officer, even if that's true that still doesn't make it right.
