There's not a huge difference between the two, but when you factor in the fact that Just Dance is probably easier to port to Wii U than AC since it's not as graphically intensive, and the fact that they probably don't want Wii U holding back AC on next-gen/PC graphically, it makes sense that they'd abandon AC ports on Wii U.

Engines are scalable, your second point is entirely moot.
