I think you are out of luck buddy. No refunds has been their policy from day 1...

Doesn't seem right....Apparently even if I insist that Sony close my account so that there is no way for me to access it ever again they still just keep the money. Microsoft refunded me. What's Sony's deal?

Check you consumer protection laws. It may be that even if a company says no refunds Aussie federal law may require a refund if a substantial part of the service is not used. As long as you haven't downloaded any PS+ games post renewal, or bought any games with a PS+ discount post renewal then you may have a case.

Don't take companies at their word on this, because often they just bluff figuring it's not worth your while to dig in to the matter to find out your rights and assert them. We have legislation which requires companies to fix faulty products outside of the warranty period if it is within what is expected to be a reasonable lifespan for a product, so there may be some similar condition on refunding services not used.

Credit card company will not reverse the payment because the payment was not fraudulent or unsolicited. Sony would have the right to sue the credit card company for reversing a legal transaction.
