Play as you download is not dependent on your internet speed. It just means if a game is say, 20 gigs, you can start playing part if it (first few missions, multiplayer, separate modes) once you download a certain amount like maybe 6 gigs. Asmore downloads it becomes available. Speed has nothing to do with it.

No one is reading what I'm saying. I didn't say it shouldn't utilize streaming but just maybe offer and option to do it either way. Everyone keeps saying "it's great because it's instantaneous" but probably like PS Now then you probably need 5 Mbs per second speed in order to even use it. So for a chunk of people it's not "convenient" it's not even available.

Imagine what the server load would be like if each time someone wanted to share a game, the other player would  download it. ALL OF IT. This would cripple the PS network. It's inconvenient to SONY.

I get your frustration but your proposed solution is impractical.

I didn't say that. I was thinking more like once per person but then the authorization to play it for 60 minutes could be a small 100 kb file. You could even stream footage over twitch to the owner. Same basic thing but much lower speed required.

Edit: come to think of it they could also make it where if you liked the game you could pay to unlock the whole thing and you would already have it downloaded.
