"Selling well" is too loose a phrase, given you'd have to know the budget to define what it needs to do so. Then again, 4 million for most franchise means it "sold well".

Well yes, low sales don't necessarily mean a game flopped, it all depends on how much it costs. But what i meant is that AAA horror games are struggling to turn profits as there just simply is'nt an audience for the genre as a whole and with Silent Hill looking to be a AAA game that means it'll probabaly have to sell into the millions to profit, at least that's what i think. But i think this game will manage to sell above 3.5 million it as it's a pretty well known franchise and has a highly respected team behind it, but who knows if that will makes the game profitable or not.

Actually, what Silent Hills proves is that there is an audience for the AAA horror title - you just have to know how to reach them and where to tighten things up.

More than that, they also proved that horror games, real horror games, could be made, that you could scare and enerve a player somehow.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
