One big factor in the indie push on PS4 is Microsoft's parity clause. It has a stipulation in there regarding games that already have deals in place with Sony or Nintendo before they come to MS. Various indie developers have talked about rushing to get a deal done with Sony so that they could eventually release their games on Xbox as well.
Either way Sony has finally come around on indies. Doing much better than they did with PS3.
