Is The Last Story first party or third party?

Awhh, The Last Story loved the game! We might see a sequel someday, it's 2nd party so i guess it can only be on Nintendo consoles like Xenoblade and DKCR. 

I'm surpised many people don't like the game, this series might be the new Final Fantasy we lost during the N64 era.
