I agree that calling for boycotts is silly though. Theres no point in that. If someone wants to buy these games, more power to them, but when publishers act like they are surprised that some of these games don't sell, I can't keep quiet about that. They need to know that it is largely their own fault... I also think the fact that few people know about AC on Wii U (and other 3rd party games) is because of the publisher's way of handling the games as second tier and not treating them as important as the other SKU in terms of marketing. This is a larger problem that should be fixed on the publisher end (we have seen how much of an impact the "pretend exclusive" marketing strategy has, but there is no reason to implement that if you aren't being paid off...). |
I think both of you make very good points, it's both the consumers and publishers fault that Nintendo still has problems convincing third parties and why WiiU is doing so mediocre. However i think this is the perfect situation for WiiU owners to prove that they are as hardcore as PS4, XBO and PC gamers, and by that i mean that they too want games like Dark Souls, GTA and Tomb Raider on their WiiU and want to be treated equally.
Rise of Tomb Raider has been confirmed to be timed exclusive so if WiiU owners make their demands be heard like, PS fans did, than SE might give it a try and we just need to buy the goddamn game. Of course not everyone is interested in this game and i don't expect it to be extactly like the PS4XBO versions on WiiU but people need to give it a chance, a chance for change.
If we all end up thinking like "Oh well, i got Zelda so i don't care" then someday we won't get any third party support at all, pretty close to what's happening right now. Third party games on Nintendo consoles have been tough ever since the N64 days but it's never been this bad and embarrassing as it is today, really guys this needs to change.
