Personally I think it'll never happen, though I would never rank SMG #1, if even it didn't get it (close though) with all the hype, revival of a genre and groundbreaking elements it had, I doubt anything will. Debatable, it certainly brought the stealth genre into popularity. But I'd think these were better franchises: Mario Zelda Halo (yes halo, only because it did to the console FPS genre what MGS did to stealth, but like by X10 instead) Final Fantasy (Main series) Half-Life
By best franchises I'm talking about a consistent quality of games and the impact they have on genre's/gaming in general. |
