When you think that this gen Top seller is cheaper than the consoles launched 8 years ago, despite the inflationary effect of the years, i think we can consider a cheap gen.
Because of that, having 2 consoles will possibly be more common.
With that in mind, Wii U is arguably the best second console, since you already have acess to a high-end PC or console to play the Third Party.
That, and the fact that XONE doesn't have the machine, the exclusives or consumer trust to not be trounced by the PS4 will give Wii U a chance of a second place.
