You should play it on a Mac, no need to tab out. Just move a mouse to a corner, and pick a browser window. When the browser comes to focus, the game sits in the back (like an animated background). I often bring in the quest log, and then look up quests with the browser. That way I can see all the quests I have at the moment.

 Or save money and play in windowed mode.
