Well, out of sheer boredom, given the lack of excitement generated by Sony for Vita at GamesCom, I decided to see just what it was looking like for Vita software in 2014. I'm actually pleasantly surprised, I just looked at EU, there are some extras in the US and of course all that Japanese awesomeness.

So far in 2014, there have been 84 releases and there are already 120 games confirmed for release (a lot of these look like they'll probably end up being 2015 now) in Europe before anything further is announced by anyone at all.

Not bad for a dead system with no support and no games :D there's some pretty stunning stuff in that lineup too.

Incidentally the Vita saw the following EU releases in previous years:

2012 - 76
2013 - 107

So looks like despite it's fumblings, 2014 is going to provide the most games yet on Vita. It's just a shame 2012 was the year with the most AAA releases :( Though that doesn't stop 2014 from having some very technically impressive software.

Vita is NOT DEAD.. but certainly is not gonna be "alive" too much time with the current first party support... only with time people will look back at Vita's catalog and tell themself how wrong they did ignoring such a fine piece of hardware... they will regret while looking back or emulating it...
