I don't know how it went for UK last gen, but MS is focusing more on the anglosaxon markets, probably more marketing, better app support etc. plus UK, like US seems to prefer FPS games more than mainland Europe where on the other hand racing and action adventure games shine, 360 excelled in the former, PS3 on the latter. Keeping all of that in mind, it once again proves that brand is a secondary thing, Xbox outsold PlayStation in US/UK, now PS4 handily outsells Xbox there. Brand preferences are important, actual better product is way more. As for Nintendo and Wii in the UK, that's exactly what I'm saying, make a good, desirable product and it will sell no matter if your brand is strong or not. It sold amazing numbers there just like DS, even though Nintendo consoles are performing slightly worse there than in other markets on average. |
it sold well in that market
not so well in other markets
yeah thats all true and matter, too. but as i said. brand and company "loyality" aswell.
yes the ps4 is outselling the xbox one in the uk, right now. but just by a way lower margin. not 3:1 ltd or even 4:1 ytd like here in germany.
thats because of the way better product ps4 in many consumer mind. but the xbox one is still a good enough product in many more consumers mind there like in other markets. thats a point of brand/company awareness.
why do u try to imply that doesnt matter? its a big thing in economy
if every consumer would do a non subjective purchase decision without previous experiences for the brand/company, we would have a more similar picture in every market...
