OP I agree entirely re resolution being nothing more than a blip last gen. Reading comments from people now, I don't know how they got into gaming before the PS4/XB1 because apparently anything that isn't 1080p is an unplayable blurry mess o_O

The only times I really remember it was with games like Bayonetta which I agree entirely, the frame rate was double on the 360 and a much better game for it. A few frame drops here and there is negligible. But a solid 60fps vs 30fps makes a huge difference to how the game played and so rightly so the 360 version was trumped as the superior one.
Other than that, most instances were just the really devout fanboys trying to claim any advantage they could over the "enemy".
