Famitsu’s interview led to other points concerning Japan as well. Yoshida mentioned that Sony will be working with other publishers to help increase the userbase in the territory, and he believes Project Morpheus will have content that will be very appealing to the Japanese audience. |
This will be interesting seeing as how almost no developers have even adopted their console platform and the whole of the in-house console market there is next to dead. If anything, I'd expect them to actually try and offer some Vita support but even that's floundering under the 3DS. I suspect they'll try to push to some popular RPGs but we've heard next to nothing in terms of games being developed with Japan in mind from Sony and the usual support for their consoles is still happily working with PS3, so... where are these games going to come from?
Project Morpheus will be interesting but, since I like to err on the side of caution, I'm just going to go with him blowing smoke.
