Betrayal to fans? Microsoft is looking out for their own fans, and this deal made it possible for them to give their fans a game completely omptomized for the Xbox One. Microsoft is company, as is CD/SE. They aren't here to make sure every single gamer is happy. They are here to make money, and that's what Microsoft is giving them. Sony did the exact same thing with Final Fantasy when they stole it from Nintendo, and Nintendo did the exact same thing with Bayonetta 2. Like I said before, the industry isn't a fantasy land where the companies all work together to make everyone happy. No. They look out for themselves and their fans, and getting exclusive rights to games is one of the ways of doing so. If someone at CD heard this news, they would probably just be happy that Microsoft is paying for their salaries. They don't care if some people who only have a PS4 feel betrayed for whatever reason. |
Dude FF could NEVER work on the N64 because of the cartridge format Nintendo still used as opposed to the CD format on the PS 1 which was cheapr and easier to code for. the subsiquent FF games were too damn big to be on N64 cartridges. FF7 on N64 would have had to be contained in 8-10 cartridges. Squaresoft DIDNT want to format their game on the N64 and since the PS1 had the larger fanbase, they were glad to go CD. That fault is on Nintendo not Sony, who lets not forget, nintendo tried to screw over inregardless to the CD format and Philips
