This explains my view perfectly.

Microsoft will probably continue the moneyhats because of competition, and no other reason. Does anyone expect them to "play fair"? Like VancelX said, they did what they had to, and people who don't want to buy an XB1 will have to pay the price. Profits come before everything in this industry. The only thing MS can do now is hope to not alienate fans even more than this.

I totally get that MS is a company and they need to do whatever it takes to make their product successful. Nice to see them try everything unlike Sony who let the vita die a terrible death. If I were an investor in MS, I'd probably applaud their efforts. But as a gamer, I still don't like their practises. Neither do I like Sony's timed exclusives. My main point is that people keep calling other hypocrites when it's not always the case.

Also, even if it was a good move from MS, there is an ethical aspect to it. What they're doing is against my morals.Like the rich kid who tries to win by using his parents' money instead of his own talent. Sure, at the end of the day we all want to be winners. But I'd rather support a loser and not enjoy something that I like than someone who uses means that I consider immoral.

Edit: That's part of the reason I never buy apple products. Sure they are a business and they are competing with Samsung, but the billion case they won against Samsung was absolutely ridiculous to me.
