Perplexing decision, really. I expect the Xbox One to establish much better sales by then but it is still a franchise that has been heavily associated with the PS brand. They have to understand that no matter what the Xbox One install base is by that time that sales are going to suffer tremendously. Not sure what executive thought this was a good idea. Good get for Microsoft, though. I just would temper expectations as far as sales go that is for sure. |
Well, on last gen it was 2.2m against 1.7m so the difference is not *that* big, I think.

Yeah, I see the numbers last gen were really not all that far apart. I was talking more historical significance I suppose. Tomb Raider has just been on the Playstation forever at this point so it will seem sort of odd to have it exclusive to another console. I enjoyed the remake but have never been a huge fan so it makes little difference to me. And who knows, I may find a reason to have an Xbox One by that point. I have previously always had two different consoles until now. It is just always a little odd for me when whatever long-standing franchise suddenly moves to another console like this. It is business and it will not be the last time we see this sort of thing.

Well, in some way you are right but Tomb Raider was not really "tied" to PS. Yes, PS systems all got the main games but they were also always on PC and other platforms, too. IIRC it was never exclusive to PS. But yes, it is more tied to PS than Xbox. This might change now, perhaps ;)

They Ported the 2013 tomb raider to the PS4 and Xbox One where the PS4 trounced the Xbox One version.
Square Enix took money to not put the game on the PS4. Even if they are a business they are also screwing over the majority of their loyal fans.
Fuck square enix
