He explained it in the video?  Basically, EA doesn't deserve our trust, and if EA is successful, then you're also talking about an Ubisoft service, and an Activision service and any major publisher who thinks they can cash in on it.  Eventually, you're paying for PSN, XBL, Origin, Activision, Ubisoft etc...  ergo, paying several hundred in just subscription fees.

The video is about "what ifs" of really bad scenarios... he doesn't explains anything. 

Every year I pay for at least a game from every major publishers. Only the games I'm really interested to because it costs a lot. Even buying old games at 29.99$ like Mass Effect or Dragon Age is expensive. What I see now and "in the future" they'll offer games that I missed because I had to pay for other games at only 30$. This is right now and isn't a "trust" or "what if" bad scenario.
