I don't see a problem with it, it is voluntary not mandatory. if EA doesn't move the needle for you don't subscribe. $2.50 a month for access to to a library of games that will expand, and no content being removed (according to EA) works for me.
I have personally not subscribed yet, as I want to see how long it takes them to put new titles in the vault.
Hopefully other companies jump on this also since more competition will lower prices, and create better deals for the consumer.
I thought this was the thing most people wanted in terms of entertainment consumption. Isn't this one of the reasons most people have become cable cutters. For the longest time I wished cable companies offered a la carte subscriptions? To be able to pick out, and pay for the things that interest me, instead of being forced to buy a package, and end up with about 90% of channels I block, but still pay for.
