I don't think it would sell better or worse. I also don't think Nintendo would been that much better with a different name. It wouldn't be that significant since that name is being catered to attact casuals who likely would still be satisfied with their Wii and since their attach ratio was extremely low, they wouldn't go out and buy a whole new system if they are barely even buying games for their current one. Sony was going to sell regardless and 400 was a huge difference from the PS3's 600 price tag. I think Sony would have done great regardless. Microsoft's stubbles I believe also helped the Playstation brand.
