5th gen- Saturn. Meh.
6th gen- Dreamcast. One of my favorites, but wasn't around long enough to truly compete.
7th- Wii. Pretty much a party machine full of shovelware near the end.
8th- Xbone. Can't comment much on it though since I don't have one, this could easily change.
