Well... PS2 had crappy graphics. If you had a Xbox druing the 6th gen, you were already accustomed to graphics much better than PS2 offered.

Other than a few games (Halo, Morrowind, etc), most Xbox games looked very similar to their PS2 counterparts. Going from GTA III to GTA IV was an astounding leap in visual quality, whether you played the Xbox or the PS2 version of the game.

Most games on Xbox looked similar to PS2 because they were designed for PS2. GTA games of that era were designed for the PS2's vastly inferior specs.

Games designed for Xbox or ported from PC to Xbox trounced the PS2 visually. I'm referring to games like Ninja Gaiden, Riddick, Doom 3, Half Life 2, Splinter Cell, Just Cause, etc.

Hence, the jump from PS2 to PS3 was more significant than Xbox to Xbox 360. The OG Xbox almost felt a generation ahead of PS2.

That's the point I'm trying to make though. Most games on Xbox were just PS2 ports. Very few took real advantage of the power. I agree though, there were games on both GC and Xbox that looked like they were in gen 6.5, not 6 (Halo, Morrowind, Metroid Prime, Ninja Gaiden, etc).

It's just that those games were relatively few.
